groups have specific experience on certain animal issues and can
offer valuable information.

"New Mexico
Animal Law: Statutes, Regulations and Ordinances"
-- All of New Mexico’s laws, statutes, ordinances and regulations
that relate to animals compiled by Animal Protection of New Mexico
(APNM). This comprehensive binder is available at no charge to law
enforcement agencies and non-profit organizations that work on animal
issues. Others may purchase this book for production cost, $49.95.
Yearly supplements and updates will be provided. (APNM will make
the statute book available at each FAC training session. Please
check with your department head to see if your agency already has
a copy.)

you have a pending case requiring expert information on husbandry
issues related to keeping tigers, AVAR may be able to refer you
to a qualified veterinarian experienced in exotic cat care.

Offer a variety of affordable training classes across the country
including: euthanasia techniques; cruelty investigations; livestock
and horse cruelty investigations; and shelter operations. In addition

In addition to local spay/neuter programs, such as area humane societies
and shelters, the following general spay/neuter information may
be helpful for people who need financial assistance to alter their
companion animals:

New Mexico’s No More Homeless Pets Coalition (NMHP)

NMHP has been formed by many of New Mexico's animal organizations,
individuals and animal control agencies to address the problem of
New Mexico's pet overpopulation. The
coalition will focus on spay-neuter programs and believes that by
working together the problem can be more seriously addressed.
(The City of Albuquerque Animal Services Division and the No More
Homeless Pets Coalition are offering free cat spays and neuters
for a limited time through a program called Neuter Scooter. Call
the special NEUTER SCOOTER HOTLINE 505-764-1127 for more information.
Information about this program will be available from 10/2/00 –
10/20/00. Surgeries will be scheduled between 10/23/00 – 11/10/00.)
